About Victor Ekwueme

I am a partially sighted, self-motivated professional with extensive experience in Information Technology. Throughout my career, I have worked in several areas of IT, including Consulting (SAP and Odoo), Software Development, Data Analysis, and Networking.

I am a believer in self-development, engaging in paradigms such as Neural Linguistic Programming (NLP). I am hardworking, dependent (proactive) and interdependent (team player), and always up for a challenge.

As an Accessibility Specialist and Disability Inclusion Advisor, I bring a unique perspective to digital accessibility. My lived experience as a partially sighted professional gives me firsthand insight into the challenges faced when digital tools aren't designed inclusively.

Why Accessibility Matters to Me

Approximately 16% of the global population—over 1 billion people—have some form of disability. Yet the vast majority of digital products are created without accessibility in mind, which limits productivity, independence, and equal participation for persons with disabilities.

My journey as a partially sighted professional has given me firsthand insight into the challenges faced when digital tools aren't designed inclusively. I've experienced the frustration of encountering inaccessible websites, applications, and tools that others take for granted.

This personal experience drives my mission: to demonstrate that accessibility is not an afterthought or a "nice-to-have" feature—it's a fundamental requirement for usable, inclusive technology. By creating accessible products like this calculator, I aim to show that accessibility and functionality can coexist beautifully.

Every project I work on is guided by the belief that technology should empower everyone, regardless of ability. When we build with accessibility from the start, we create digital experiences that are better for everyone—not just users with disabilities.
